New Year, Fresh Start | Elemis Fresh Start Discovery Kit

Sorry for pulling out the old January cliche of 'New Year, New Me', whatever, in the title here, but this one is strictly related to skincare and it fits appropriately with the featured product as this is Elemis' 'Fresh Start' Discovery Kit to the Fresh Skin range - the skincare line targeted towards teens and early 20's.

When you don't need any anti-aging add ons, no fluffs and frills, you don't need all singing and dancing, fancy trick performing skincare ..you just need something to keep your skin clean, fresh and balanced, well that's where Fresh Skin comes in. The Discovery Kit contains favourites from the range and is everything you need to sample and test out a full routine from Elemis Fresh Skin. It contains 7 items in total, all in my favourite size: Mini. (Ranging from a 7ml sachet to a 30ml pump bottle).

The kit comes in a tightly packed little plastic capsule (this would make a great present because nobody would ever be able to guess what it was!) and the lid just pops off and voila all of your goodies are neated tucked away inside.
So, what's inside?..

- 1x Peachy Perfect Gentle Face Wash (30ml)
- 1x Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash (30ml)
- 3x Deep Clean Purifying Face Mask (3x 7ml)
- 1x Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser (15ml)
1x Dreamy Sleep Night Time Moisturiser (15ml)

The kit comes with everything that you need from start to finish - except a toner.. I always use a toner so I don't like that this kit is missing one! - so, really it's start to finish for a basic skincare routine. A routine that's ideal for beginners or someone who's just got their skin all in a muddle and needs to take it back to the start.

Elemis suggests to use the Peachy Perfect Face Wash in the morning, followed by the Softly Softly Moisturiser, and then in the evening use the Exfoliating Face Wash to clear away dead skin cells before treating yourself to a detox with the Deep Clean Purifying Face Mask and finishing with the Dreamy Sleep Night Cream.

I already have full sized bottles of the Peachy Perfect Face Wash and the Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash lurking around in my bathroom cupboards and I do really like them, especially the exfoliator. I love a good grainy scrub that's still gentle and doesn't irritate the skin, so I'm thinking of doing a full post just on the Exfoliating Face Wash. I've tried one of the Deep Clean Face Mask sachets and I love how it helped to draw all the bad stuff out of my skin and made it a little bit clearer, but kept it hydrated too. I can't seem to find anywhere to buy this mask in a full size, otherwise I would've done!

I think it's nice how they've included both a day cream and a night cream in the set, with different consistencies; the night time moisturiser is richer and heavier, but with a name like Dreamy Sleep I thought it might've had some kind of relaxation properties within it and something like a lavender scent to help you relax and drift off, but unfortunately it doesn't.

I also found the kit on timetospa.co.uk (£19.90) in different packaging and everything seems the same except there's one mask sachet, not 3, and it's in a nice zip bag instead of the plastic cylinder.

Would you make a fresh start with Elemis?
