What's On My Birthday List? | Wishlist #2

I don't think I've ever been so reluctant to have a birthday in my life!
10 days from now I will unfortunately be turning the ripe old age of twenty.
Yep, two-zero, half way to forty, no longer a teenager. Old.

What this does mean, however, is that I get to write a birthday list and pass it onto my mum who can circulate it to the many kind and lovely relatives that I have in my family and hope that they take my hints ;) I can't be the only person who has grandparents come around for a visit in the summer and pop me the question of what I'd like for my birthday when it's still 4 months until the big day? Keen little grandparents! Unless there's something in particular that I've tried on instore and know that I love and it fits, clothes aren't something that I tend to ask for as presents. My birthday wishlist contains majority beauty related items that are mostly luxury as I don't feel prepared to treat myself to them at the moment but they'd be amazing to receive as a gift:

OOTD | Moustache Tee & Disco Pants

Helloo. Today I'm doing something that hardly ever appears on my blog and that is an outfit post. I think in the 6 months I've been writing on here there has only ever been ONE outfit/OOTD/OOTN post and it was this one was HERE before I went to a wedding in the summer. If you have a look back through past posts you'll see that 95% of the images included are only really snaps I have taken of products and cosmetics that I have purchased/loved/reviewed and there isn't a whole lot of 'me' on this blog ..but I'm taking a slight direction change and would love to gradually change this lack of personality on Cosmetic Crave.

So, I'm starting right now, here, today, with a few little snaps of me taken before I went to uni yesterday, mainly because I liked my new t-shirt a lot and I want to share it with you ..although I'm either going to have to employ a personal photographer or get more practise with these self-timed photos if I want to do more outfit posts in the future because this was hard work getting any half decent pictures. Such an amateur.
(You may have seen a sneak preview of this new tee if you follow me on Instagram).

Disco Pants - Own The Runway
Moustache Tee - Strawberry Moon
Trainers - Primark

My disco pants were from Own The Runway but just so you know.. I would not reccomend this particular pair. I had an experience of awful customer service with that company so have now boycotted them completely and also the quality is pretty shoddy - loose threads coming out all over, the black button has worn away to be silver and anything that comes into contact with them ends up with blue dye transferred all over them! Hmm. Despite this, I still wear them day in day out because I love the style and fit of them. I have my heart set on a navy pair now but for these I will go to Glamorous for.

The cute 'Moustache's Of The World' t-shirt was one that I spotted inside one of those cheap little market style stores that often don't hang around for very long. If you live anywhere near Preston then I found it in the shop called Strawberry Moon that is inside the Fishergate Shopping Centre - tacky as hell in there but my friend was on the hunt for some long black gloves to complete a halloween outfit and this caught my eye. I'm only supposed to be spending on essentials now that I'm back in my overdraft but this was £5.00 and that was too good of an opportunity to miss and I justified it by saying that I'd buy the t-shirt instead of getting a coffee from Starbucks!

The burgundy high-top converse style trainers are a pair that I picked up from Primark for a measly £6.00 and despite my instant love for them this was the first time I wore them and I picked a bad day for their trial run because yesterday I'm convinced the temperatures were sub-zero and I couldn't feel my toes! As cute and comfy as they are I need to remember that they're not so great at keeping my feet warm.

Own The Runway | Disco Pants Dupe

I've been lusting after a pair of the pair of American Apparel Disco Pants (link) for such a long time, but it really is such a lot of money for something that is essentially a pair of leggings. If any of you also follow LLYMLRS's Fashion and Style blog you will know that she has done quite a few posts on dupes of the AA Disco Pants (if you've not seen already then check them out). She has compared the River Island, Glamorous and Own The Runway versions to the original ones and from what she had written the Glamorous sound most similar to the originals, but I wanted a black pair and these were all out of stock. So I settled for option #2 - Own The Runway (link).

This was the first time I had ordered anything from Own The Runway and was impressed with how quickly my order took to arrive and also the price too, but the quality was a little bit off on one of purchases. I ordered two things, one of them being the black disco pants dupes, and the other being a white shirt to go with them. I don't have any photographs of me actually wearing the white shirt because I have now sent it back - was not keen at all. The material of it felt really stiff and cheap so did not hang nicely, the 'metal tipped collars' were horrifically cheap plastic, both to look at and to feel, plus there were also multiple loose threads coming from the shirt in different places which I know isn't a massive problem but the shirt wasn't how I expected it to be and I wouldn't wear it.

As I don't personally own the original AA disco pants then it's quite difficult for me to give my own comparison of them but I am really impressed with these ones and it was £26 well spent. They're super suck-y in-y (not a real phrase, i know) and a very flattering fit. The weather is a bit too hot to be wearing them at the moment as I did start to feel a bit hot and sticky while trying them on them the other day as they're super skin tight, but I think I'll get a lot more wear out of them when autumn and the cooler weather comes around.

On the first picture of the disco pants you can see that because these are so tight it means that knickers are actually visible underneath (its what the ridge is incase you couldn't tell), and nobody wants a VPL! So I'm going to have to hunt myself down some invisible underwear! Also, yes the middle picture is a picture of my backside, I just wanted to show how they fit at the back.

What do you think of these disco pants?
Would you prefer to have the ultimate American Apparel pair, or would you settle for some cheaper dupes?
