Happy, Healthy Hair: What I Use

Who doesn't want long, full and flowing beautifully luxurious hair? We all do, right? Long, thick hair seems to be a little bit of an obsession for most girls, myself included, and growing my hair seems to be all that I've ever wanted to do. I've never been fussed with extensions because I change my hair colour pretty frequently and it's often multi-coloured a lot of the time too, so I would struggle to find a shade that matches up perfectly, and in the past all the clip ins I've tried have been uncomfortable and hard to work with.

Instead I want my very own mane of super long hair (preferably belly button length), with soft natural waves, rich brown in colour, and thick and healthy with no frizz to be seen ..but it seems hair like that only exists in films! I'll do all that I can get to get as close to that dream as possible though, so as well as banning hairdryers and straighteners from my life for the past 6 months here is what's been working for me recently in terms of products...

(This concoction of products has strictly been limited to washing and treatments, just to keep things simple).

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Shampoo*

As a long time lover of the accompanying Hair Growth treatment mask from Mr.Stafford, it's surprised me that I hadn't yet branched out and bought the full set from this range. My hair obviously hasn't grown 5 inches in a week, but this range makes hair stronger at the root and stimulates follicles to encourage more growth.

Lee Stafford Argan Oil Conditioner

As mortified as I am that I walked into Boots and then walked back out again with a bottle of conditioner and a purse £12 lighter, I do really love this conditioner and think that it is the perfect companion to the Hair Growth Shampoo. 

It seemed to make more sense to me to mix and match this pair together and choose a stimulating shampoo to encourage root growth, and then a conditioner from their most nourishing range to be able to heal any damage and restore any well needed moisture to those ends. I love Lee Stafford's honesty in the aims of his products, stating that the shampoo will help hair to 'reach its maximum potential length', and the conditioner will 'restore hair to its optimal condition' - no unrealistic promises there.

I have chosen a mask from each of two above ranges to help my hair out and alternate between the two of them; focusing the Hair Growth on the roots around once a fortnight and the Argan Oil mask on the mid-lengths and ends every weekend. Both of these masks work really well at giving the hair a nourishment boost and bring it back to being silky soft, smooth and manageable. Moroccanoil Oil Treatment

Ooh so one you'll never have heard of then?! Haha the world famous Moroccan Oil. Now a firm favourite in my life and a definite repurchase until then end of time, I am a huge fan of this hair oil and would recommend it to anybody. It is basically my hair's best friend to keeps it calm, soft, nourished and free from frizz. It can be used on wet or dry hair / before and after styling so it can be thrown into any stage of my routine. You can see my full review on if it you click here.

Redken Color Extend Radiant-10 Multi Benefit Treatment Spray

Again, a product that I have talked about before and you'll be able to see my full review on it here; I use this Redken spray as a leave-in conditioner and as a detangler. Straight after washing my hair, before I do anything, I spray this all over to make sure that I can get a wide tooth comb through it without any snagging, pulling or breaking of the hair (a Tangle Teezer has been welcomed to my life in the past few days that will now replace the comb), and it makes my life a heck of a lot easier. It also adds extra condition to the hair in a super light weight formula too.

Redken Extreme Anti-Snap Leave In Treatment

Umm, okay so I owe this 'Anti-Snap' a little apology after the very blunt and negative review that I gave to it back in October (here), and said that it had made my hair a lot drier and a lot more brittle, leading to increased breakage.. it seemed to be a pro-snap, not an anti-snap!! That's my own fault for not using the product correctly and I've learnt from videos by Tanya Burr and EleventhGorgeous (if you click their names it will take you to the videos where they talk about this topic) that yes, protein/keratin is the the best thing that you can use on your hair, but there is also such as thing as 'too much of a good thing' when it comes to overloading your hair with keratin.. and using too much too often will dry out your hair and make it more brittle. So that was my problem with the Anti-Snap, that I was too keen and was using it too often. Now that I use it in moderation I've found it to be a wonder product and makes my hair feel so much stronger.

One more point: This is supposed to 'seal' the hair cuticles, so if you are using this product in your routine make sure that you're using it last, because otherwise it will block out all other products and they won't be able to penetrate into the hair shaft, so especially if you're also using an oil - make sure that you apply the oil first and then the Anti-Snap to be able to 'lock it in'!

So, that's what has been keeping my little head of hair happy and healthy recently.

It's currently the longest that it's ever been (finally gone past 'boobie length'! yay!), it's in the best condition that it's ever been and is the most 'tameable' I've ever had it. A while back I'd never be able to wear my hair in it's natural style, but it seems I've got things under control now and heat styling is well and truly a thing of the past for me. Review: Moroccanoil Oil Treatment

Hi ladies, I'm trying to get past my spout of 'bloggers block' at the moment as I don't know what's come over me recently but I've been finding it impossible to put words into a sentence and have them make some kind of sense! Too much uni work has been baffling my head and it's been 10 days since I last put up a proper post - that feels like forever! I hope you'll excuse my little absence and we'll get back into the swing of things ASAP. 

Soo.... Moroccan oil? Heard of it? Thought you might have! 

To clear up any confusion; 'Moroccanoil' is the name of the brand, and the product is called 'Oil Treatment', which is why it looks a bit odd calling it 'Morccanoil Oil Treatment', but hey - that's it's name. 

This famous little blue bottle has a 'seal of originality' over the cap, which Moroccanoil pride themselves on, and I'm pretty sure they're chuffed to bits with the fact that they've revolutionised hair care, making argan oil (or any kind of oil!) a key ingredient in a lot of people's daily hair routines, whether it's for care and treatment, or with styling. Oil no longer means slick and greasy, oil means nourishment and good quality care for our stressed out tresses. Moroccanoil is an industry sensation, used by professionals around the world and many women (such as myself) swear by it to transform hair that is dry and damaged, into soft, smooth, shiny and beautiful flowing locks. 

Where to buy? The site Feel Unique is the leading retailer for all sorts of products from this brand, from shampoo and conditioner, to hairspray, shine spray and conditioning masks, and you will be able to see everything that they offer by looking here. The bottle of the treatment itself is available in 2 different sizes to suit everybody's needs and budgets. This small 25ml bottle that I have here costs £12.85 and is great if you just want to dip your toe in the waters and see what you think of it, maybe use it for travel as it's a really small bottle that takes up no space at all, or even as a back up bottle for whatever reason. For me, I received this as a gift and it was pretty much perfect for everything that I needed, but now I know that I love it I have my heart set on buying the larger 100ml bottle when this has all run out (100ml bottle costs £30.45) - it's expensive but it's so worth it.

Why is it worth it? Why would you spend £30+ on a bottle of oil?.. Well, not only does the oil weightlessly leave the hair smoother, free from tangles and knots, with minimised frizz, it also improves the actual condition of the hair right down to the core, making it stronger with each use. I've been using this regularly since Christmas and my hair has never looked so good! Also, I can always tell on the days when I haven't used this as my hair is slightly more unruly and feels drier on the ends, although it's nothing compared to how it used to feel! I'm also only about 1/3 of the way through the bottle which gives you a good indication of how long lasting something like this can be; if a 25ml bottle will last me approximately 1 year, you'll be set for a long, long time with a 100ml bottle! That's enough oil to transform anybody's hair from awful to amazing with regular use. 

How to use: I pour quite a generous sized blob into the palm of my hand (about the size of a 50p and I've never experienced any greasiness with that much), rub my hands together and then massage the oil through the mid-lengths (bottom of ear downwards) of towel dried hair. Sometimes I'll go back for a little bit more and add some more onto the very ends as they've had some bleach damage and deserve some extra TLC. This oil doesn't leave your hands feeling sticky, slimey or greasy and it doesn't leave a residue in the hair either. I also love the smell of it too, it's quite a masculine and musky smell which is unique from most other hair products, but that makes it quite a signature scent. One more good point: it also helps to speed up the drying time of the hair as oil repels water particles, making them clear off out of the hair in half the time - always a bonus if you're using heat to dry your hair as it means less heat on the hair, therefore less damage, or if you're drying it naturally then that means less time with damp hair hanging around!

Here is what Moroccanoil® themselves have to say about their oil treatment:

"This treatment for hair completely transforms and repairs as its formula transports lost proteins for strength; fatty acids, omega-3 oils and vitamins for shine; and antioxidants for protection. It absorbs instantly to fill gaps in hair created by heat, styling and environmental damage".

Sounds good? It is good! Really good. You might think that £30, or even £12 is a lot of money to spend on something for your hair, but if looking after your hair is something that you really are interested in doing, either you're on a mission to grow it all the way down to your hips, or you're trying to reverse some damage from years of bleach to bring back a bit of shine then this is something worth trying. 

It hasn't got all of this hype for nothing!

Review: Soap and Glory 'Glad Hair Day' Range

I've mentioned these products before in passing and just said that I really like them, but I thought they deserved a little more praise now that I am formally obsessed with them. The 'Glad Hair Day' range from Soap and Glory consists of three products: shampoo, conditioner (regular), and intense conditioner. These 250ml tubes costs £5.50 a piece, and I bought mine on a '3 for 2' deal (Soap and Glory are great like that), meaning that I got the full set for £11 - not bad, not bad.

Oops, I made such a cock-up with the picture above: "Give your moody hair the heave-ho.." - It should say 'mane' Hannah, not 'hair'! Can't you read? Silly moose. Anyway, onto the Glad Hair Day shampoo. Since this has a 'no build up' formula it's supposed to give the hair amazing shine and be suitable to wash your hair with everyday. I don't wash my hair daily, but I have found this to be the perfect shampoo for what I can call 'everyday use', i.e. in my eyes this is for the washes where you don't want anything special; you don't want it super clarified and squeaking clean right down to the core, you don't want it super strengthened, smoothed or frizz free with an intense formulation, you just want it freshened up. Ideal for those times when I'm not going anywhere special and my hair doesn't need to look amazing; it's probably going to be thrown into a messy bun until the next time I wash it so I just want any excess oil shifting from my head (tehe, yummy). You might wonder why I love it then if it's nothing special? But it's the whole packaging with it's vintage style images and quirky slogans that easily please me, and then the amaazing fruity fragrance (heavily raspberry based) that fills the room and lingers on the hair makes it super yummy. A little blob goes a long way because it lathers up well and can keep my hair clean for around 4 days.

Now, I don't think much to the regular conditioner and don't think it's that great at all but that's probably because it's targeted towards finer hair types and I've got a big, thick frizzy mane that could never be described as fine. But if I use the intensive conditioner (aimed at those with thicker hair) with every wash then that becomes a bit too much and my hair can be overloaded. That's why it works ideal to have both of them and use them alternatively on each wash to create the right balance, and another way that I sometimes use them is a blob of the regular, a blob of the intensive and mix them both together in my hands before applying to my hair and that ends up working out perfectly! Soap and Glory needs to come up with a middle of the road formula.

The times when I use the intensive conditioner, though, is when my hair feels at its best and this is one that I know I will 100% use again and use as a weekly treatment for my hair as it leaves it in the smoothest and softest conditioner ever; not bad for a high street conditioner!

So, I may not have made this set sound all that special but the intensive conditioner is the absolutely star of the show with this range and the one that I would hands down recommend. If your hair is thicker or more damaged than mine then it may be suitable to use as a regular shampoo, but if your hair is like mine (or finer) then it makes a great occasional treatment to really work at smoothing and strengthening the hair!

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment and Oil Infused Hairbrush

Okay, so oil treatments have taken over the land of hair care, that's no secret to any of us. I'm a big fan of hair oils, and have tried and tested quite a range (I own 12, that's an obsession gone too far, I know) but 'Macadamia' is one brand name that keeps on popping up again and again when people discuss their favourite hair care products; it's been named as a rival to 'the original' Moroccan oil treatment in the quality stakes, but beating it in terms of price (for comparison 125ml of Macadamia oil will cost you £23.95, whereas 100ml of Moroccan oil will cost you £30.45).

Macadamia combine two natural oils (Macadamia and Argan) that have been proven to help maintain the health and strength of hair, as well as adding shine. Perfect for hair that is damaged either through length and daily wear and tear, bleach and other dyes, or excessive heat styling, then Macadamia's natural oils could give you and your hair that has seen better days a helping hand and a little nourishment boost.

Healing Oil Treatment

The healing oil treatment is raved about by many and is a favourite of lots and lots beauty lovers everywhere. It can nourish hair, protect, smooth frizz, reduce drying time (how? I'm not too sure!) and even extend colour. Sound like a miracle in a bottle? Well it is. Don't be fooled by how I only have a 10ml size bottle and think that this will be gone in a week.. this has been going strong since December! As with most oils just a little blob is needed, rubbed into the palm of the hands and then massaged through the mid-lengths and ends when damp or dry to transform the condition of the hair. I don't know how I ever lived without oils before now. I normally rub one 'pea sized' blob of oil through the mid-lengths while my hair is wet and then another through the ends once it is dry to make my hair smooth, frizz free, shiny and soft - everything that you could want your hair to be! Also, because it doesn't weigh the hair down and make it greasy I can also apply a little bit more as a shine 'top up' on the days inbetween washing. 

I chop and change between my two favourites: this one and the Moroccan oil, and I have to say that the Moroccan oil is actually slightly preferred. I would still recommend Macadamia oil as it works fantastically, is exceptional high quality professional hair care and is also cheaper than the Moroccan oil, but just for me and my hair Moroccan oil is the winner. Little factors come into play such as a preferred scent and slightly more intense formula meaning less product is needed just means that Macadamia is beaten to the winning post.

Oil Infused Brush

An oil infused hair brush? I don't know about you but that doesn't seem to be something that you hear about every day. This is a really good quality paddle brush (my favourite type to use for my huge mane of hair) with a strong wooden handle, clean and basic design, and plastic bristles. I purchased this mainly out of curiousity and how it would be able to work. You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at it, but the entire pad and bristles are infused with the same natural healing oil treatment that I have just discussed above. The brush isn't sticky, oily or greasy to the touch and I assume it is only infused with a small amount to avoid overload onto the hair. It is an ingenious idea in my eyes, why haven't more people thought of this yet?! To be able to brush and detangle your hair at the same time as treating it? It glides through the hair without a problem, no tugging at all and leaves it looking sleek and manageable. The effects aren't quite as instant and obvious as they are when directly using the oil treatment but I'm not seeing any downsides to using this brush. One thing I'm not sure about is whether or not the oil will run out? Can it stay infused forever or will I eventually be left with just a hair brush? I'm yet to find this out! 

I bought this set from a seller on eBay that included the 10ml bottle of the treatment and also the hair brush for £15.99, but unfortunately this seller doesn't appear to be selling those products anymore. If you are interested then you can purchase the Macadamia Oil Treatment in a larger size of 30ml for £10.75 from Beauty Bay here, and the infused hairbrush for £16.75 here. Even if you're not sold on the idea of the hair brush then just the oil is worth giving a go and there's a whole range of other products from them on Beauty Bay, including shampoo, conditioner, masks, combs, etc!

Review: Aussie '3 Minute Miracle' Reconstructor For Damaged Hair

Okayyyyy.. so a couple of weeks ago I was brimming with energy and couldn't shut up about how I was going to blog every single day of March as a little challenge to myself. How did that work out for me? Well I've just skipped four days ..so not too great! I've had a lot on my plate recently and thought that blogging would be a productive distraction and some time well spent taken out of a busy day, but in reality I was just trying to juggle one too many things and eventually crashed and burned - Ooops.

Intro aside, today's review is of my absolute number one favourite hair mask and it's cheap as chips and a widely available one from Aussie. There is a slight variant of the price of this depending on where you buy it from, but I think it's standard RRP could be £4.99. Around different supermarkets and stores such as Boots and Superdrug, however, you will frequently be able to find offers such as '2 for £7' or '3 for £10' across the Aussie line so you're guaranteed to grab yourself a bargain.

It's not just price of this deep treatment that makes this a winning product for me, it also has very impressive genuine results on hair condition too and can give much more expensive and higher end products a run for their money! The results may not be a permanent reparative solution for damaged and split ends of the hair, but it definitely offers a brilliant short term fix. '3 minute miracle' is quite an apt name for this as it only needs to be left on the hair for a couple of minutes after washing as usual and then it is rinsed away to reveal hair that has had a brand new lease of life breathed into it - just what we all need from time to time!

It gives exactly the results that you would expect; soft, smooth, manageable, 'silky', and just general healthy conditioned hair, but this one had an added bonus of having the most amazing smell thrown in the mix too! Most people will be familiar with the scent of Aussie products, but it's a super sweet and yummy bubblegum fragrance that fills the whole bathroom and lingers on the hair after use too.

Of course, the packaging of this bottles makes it not the most convenient for travel (it doesn't have a real lid at all, just a squeezey hole in the bottom), but I don't think that a deep treatment for my hair is top of my list for things to pack for a trip away, so that doesn't matter too much anyway! And also, be careful if you have butter fingers because it doesn't fare too well if you drop it. 

There's a couple of other variants of Aussie's 3 minute masks, such a 'Take The Heat', 'Frizz Remedy', 'Colour', 'Luscious Long', and their newest release: 'Miracle Shine' too. I've tried the 'frizz remedy' mask before too and found it to have very similar results to this reconstructing mask, although the reconstructing mask seemed slightly more intense. It's personal preference which mask you feel is most suited to your hair but I doubt there's a whole lot of difference between the formulas and this one never, ever lets me down!

Whether you're on a budget or not, if you're looking for something to perk your hair up then this is one to give a try!

Review: Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Treatment

 

Hey girls. I decided to set myself a little challenge to try and blog once a day for every single day of March (procrastination at it's finest - this is a busy time for uni deadlines!), so make sure to check back regularly for new content - I hope that I can do it! I've written a list of 31 topics to blog about, it's just finding the time in a day to pull it off. So anyway, day three: Philip Kingsley Elasticizer.

 

This is quite a famous deep conditioning hair treatment and is discussed quite a lot as being a good quality hair care product. It's one I've had my eye on for a very long time but have never wanted to part with that large amount of money if I wasn't going to see amazing results. This 75ml tube that I have here costs £14.40, and a larger tub of 150ml costs £26.25 (available from Feel Unique: link) - can you see why I was reluctant to splash out and give this a go? Luckily for me I won this tube in a giveaway so have been able to give it a little trial run, but let me tell you this: I am so glad that my hard earned pennies didn't go towards placing an order for this because I am not overly impressed.

 

I wanted to love it and I wanted it to do amazing things for me and my dry, frizzy ends.. but I just didn't see results that blew me away. I've used it four different times and each time I used a generous amount but just varied the length of time that I left it on my hair for, ranging from 5 minutes to 2 hours. It is supposed to add elasticity, bounce, shine and strength in a seriously intentive form, but the results that I was left with were only that of an ordinary conditioner. I'm not saying it did anything bad at all, or even that it did nothing at all; it did soften and leave my hair managable, it just wasn't wow, and if you're paying that price for something then I'd be expecting strands of liquid gold flowing from my head. It's a nice conditioner, and I haven't regretted using it, but for the price alone it is not something that I would recommend - sorry!!

 

 

Redken Smooth Lock Range

Ladies and gentlemen, let me please introduce to you the greatest hair care range that I have ever used ..ever! (Terrible pictures, I know, but I took them in a mad rush to take advantage of a rare moment of sunlight!) The range that I talking about is a relatively new line from Redken, called 'Smooth Lock'. A nourishing hair care range that contains almond oil for a silky smooth shine, interlock protein network for strength, and thermo-active polymers for heat defence and a frizz free finish. The clue is in the name for the finished result that using these will give to your hair: smooth.

Frizz is one of the main problems that I have with my badly behaved hair and this definitely helps to keep it tamed and well and truly under control. The shampoo doesn't feel all that impressive, it just gives the hair a good clean without stripping too much moisturiser away, whereas the conditioner and the deep treatment are the real stars of the show! Smelling beautifully of almonds the rich and creamy formulas nourish the hair all the way to the very tip, leaving it smooth as silk and perfectly manageable.

As it's a pricey handful of products I only tend to use these on an occasion where I know I'll be blasting my hair with some form of heat after I've washed it, especially as it does contain heat activated formulas that will nourish and protect the hair, so the extra added step of heat defence can be skipped. Even without blow drying, after using this my can will happily dry to a smooth, sleek and frizz free style of its own accord which quite literally amazes me. My hair could pass as if a professional had spent a decent amount of time with a brush and a diffuser smoothing down my flyaways and giving my hair some discipline that can last for days!

I bought the shampoo and conditioner as part of a gift set duo around Christmas time and it cost me £17.00 for the pair, but individually these will cost you £10.65 and £11.70 for a 300ml and 250ml bottle. The 'butter silk', or deep treatment, I purchased at a later date after realising how much I loved the shampoo and conditioner and how much good they were doing for my hair. The 250ml tub will set you back a very hefty  £17.65 but I think that it's worth every penny (all available from Feel Unique). Also available from the range is 'Stay Sleek' leave-in cream, and 'Heat Glide' heat defence spray.

Review: H'Suan Wen Hua | Lush Hair Mask

LUSH H'Suan Wen Hua £8.95/225g

 

H'Suan Wen Hua is a pre-shampoo deep conditioning mask for 'out of condition' hair from Lush, described on the American site as a 'hair moisturizer'. Once upon a time, my hair was in a really bad way from heat and bleach damage with general frizz and split ends, but now after taking a lot of care and giving my hair some TLC it's in pretty good shape, but that doesn't mean that I can't treat myself to a weekly deep treatment to keep it up.

 

Pronounciation troubles aside, this 225g pot full of fresh and natural ingredients will set you back just less than £9.00 and is intended to 'improve the condition, lustre and combability of hair'.

 

What's In It and What Do They Do?

• Bay and watercress infusions, balsamic vingegar and rosemary oil for shine.
• Fresh free range eggs and soya lecithin for protein to restructure the hair.
• Lanolin, from sheep’s wool, moisturises as it's similar to human sebum.
• Olive oil to improve the tensile strength of the hair shaft.
• Cinammon leaf oil for its antiseptic qualities.
• Bay leaf infusion is stimulating, toning and clarifying for the scalp.
• Fresh organic bananas and avocados for their rich oily moisturising properties

Pretty unique range of ingredients mixed into this one - vinegar egg and banana?! This is to be used on dry hair prior to washing, with a generous amount of this creamy concoction is slapped all over the hair and left for 20-30 minutes (longer if you have time) before shampooing and rinsing away to reveal soft, shiny and flowing locks of wonder.

 

I do like this mask, I think it does work at conditioning the hair, but it's just not the best out there and didn't blow me away in awe. For a start, the smell is something that I really do not like about this, it's pretty strong and not at all pleasant, but it is something that I can get around and doesn't bother me enough not to use this, but it does receive a lot of criticism from people. And I find the application a bit weird because putting conditioner all over dry hair just seems a bit unnatural, but other than those two points about it I found the results to be quite impressive. After rinsing away, my hair does feel much softer and smoother and in general a lot healthier and in better condition, even if the results are only temporary until the next wash. It's not something that I would bother to buy again, but it's been fun to try out and wasn't a wasted purchse.

 

Pros

- A fancy name no one can pronounce

- Full of natural and beneficial ingredients

- Has dual purposes: conditions and moisturises the ends but the bay leaf infusion also stimulates the roots

- Actually works at conditioning the hair, leaving it soft and nourished

- Leaves the hair smooth and untangled. Hair dries sleek and free from frizz but not weighed down at the roots

 

Cons

- The smell ..eggs vinegar and cinnamon

- It won't last forever due to the natural ingredients (mine goes out of date a week from now but I did buy it at Christmas)

- It is jam packed full of goodness and natural ingredients, but still contains parabens (methylparaben and propylparaben) ..sense?!

- A generous amount is needed (directed to use 1/2 a tub each time on long hair), making it not very cost effective - £4.50 per use!

- There are more intensive conditioning treatments out there for a more reasonable price



Hair Oils Collection

Hey girls. I'm sure you're all aware that 2012 was the year that using oil as a treatment for dry and damaged hair really took off, with countless variations from high end to high street and even Primark offering up different concoctions for us all to try, and I for one was fully on board with the hair oil hype. After trying out my first one (Babyliss Pro Argan Oil) it was love at first use and I was eager to see what else was out there on the market to give a helping hand to my frazzled ends. Needless to say, my hair's now in the best condition that I've ever had it, it's split end free and growing at a good rate and my only 'secret' would be the incorporation of oils into my hair care routine. Some are put on wet hair, some on damp, some on dry, most on both and are brilliant for using a 'finishing product' to keep any flyaways at bay on styled hair as well as using a healing leave-in treatment.

I know I've gone a bit overboard and don't need all these (there's 11), but hey - what can you do? There's a huge variety in my 'collection', ranging from the apparent 'best of the best' hair oil in the form of The Original Moroccan Oil, to the super pricey Ojon Rare Blend Hair Oil, the 'up and comer' in the popularity stakes: Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment, all the way down to the cheap and cheerful high street offerings of L'Oreal and Tresemme, plus a £2.50 tube picked up from Primark (Hask Argan Oil). There's obviously a range in prices and value, but also a range in quality and intensity, sizes that range from 10ml to 30ml to 100ml, and some bottles with pump dispensers and some with pourers. We all need variety in our lives.

This post isn't really intended to review any of these oils in full because that would take me far too long and you'd be here all day reading it too, plus I've already reviewed most of these individually anyway. It's quite hard to make much of a dent in any of these because with all of them only a tiny amount is needed with each use and a little goes a long way, plus with the way that I chop and change between which one I'm using I'm struggling to foresee even one of these running out any time soon - looks like I'm set for life on the oil front! There's none that I dislike at all, just some that are better suited to different circumstances or 'hair days', and some are more intense than others or better value for money, but all are good and I like using them all. I tend to stick to one that I use all the time for a week or two, and then I rotate things around and start using another for a while, but at the moment my three favourite ones are the Lee Stafford one, Babyliss and 'The Original', but ask me again in a month and I'm sure I'll reel off a different list.
