If any of you lovely ladies follow me on Instagram (hannahripley1) or twitter (@hannahripley) then you may have seen me upload the above picture and thought 'wowww, this girl has shopping issues' because yes, I did buy all of this on Friday and yes, I did have very sore arms after carrying it home! Admittedly not every item in the above picture is for me as I shopped for my mum's birthday present too so some bits are for her and 3 of the items were magazine freebies (see post). If we take away the items that were for my mum and the ones that were free with the purchase of magazines then here is what we are left with:
Still loads? Yep. I don't know what came over me! Self Control? None existant.
1) St Moriz Self Tanning Mousse: Medium and Dark
These bottles are £2.99 each in Body Care which is the cheapest they can be found I think. St Moriz is always the brand that I go to simply because I rarely wear fake tan, I don't wear it on a daily basis, I only put it on for a night out and then I scrub it off the next day so I really don't see the point in splashing out on a more expensive brand when this cheap and cheerful one does the job just perfectly for me. I've never tried the 'dark' one before so I thought I would give it a try and see how different it is to the regular 'medium' shade.
2) Great Hair Shampoo - Moisture Drench
Off the top of my head I think this giant bottle of shampoo cost £3.99, but don't quote me on that one and I've lost the receipt to check. 'Great Hair' is not a brand that I have ever seen or heard of before and when I typed 'great hair shampoo' into Google all that came up was questions on what is the best shampoo to use to get great hair.. nothing on this brand - I think that maybe this is exclusive to Body Care as I have never spotted it in any other shops before, anyone know? But anyway this huge pump bottle caught my eye on the shelf as it looks like quite a high end product, I really love the design of the packaging - looks like something they would use in a hairdressers. This 'moisture drench' shampoo is targeted to dry, damaged hair and is infused with moroccan argan oil extract - well I'm sold! I haven't used this yet but if it's any good then I might do a full review on it.
3) Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner
Okay, hands up who has never owned this product before? I'm pretty sure that I've never seen a month go by without this in at least 10 people's favourites or empties posts and I've never seen a negative review on it either. A well-loved and well-used product in the beauty world. Aussie have some really amazing products and this is one of my favourites; it's basically a deep conditioning treatment that actually works and also smells absolutely beautiful. It's pretty cheap and can always be found for less than £5 so if you've never used this before then you definitely should!
4) got2b Volumising Styling Powder
I've eyed up a couple of these 'volumising powders' before but never taken the plunge to buy one before. I used one that belonged to a friend before a night out and it really did give amazing volume and lift to the roots of my hair that probably couldn't be achieved even with fierce backcombing and a bottle of hairspray and that definitely made me want my own! This sort of thing is obviously much kinder to the hair than backcombing as the sticky product can just be washed away, so I would just use a clarifying or slightly harsher shampoo when washing my hair the next day to get rid of this as it does leave hair feeling very unpleasant, sticky and knotty - nothing a bit of shampoo and conditioner can't solve though and it's worth it for the volume.

5) L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil
Everywhere I look I can't seem to get away from seeing this product. Everybody's reviewing it and it's advertised in all the magazines I've read recently so I had to give in and buy it. It's inexpensive at £6.99 and I much prefer the pump dispenser to other oils that I own where you have to pour it into your hand. This way there's no wasted product and the bottle even gives you guidance on how much to use - it does advise 2 pumps that can be applied to either wet or dry hair but because my hair is so long and thick I've found that 3-4 pumps works better for me.. trial and error to find out what's best for you but it's nice to have guidance. It also has multiple uses and can be used as a pre-shampoo treatment, on wet hair before blow drying or on dry hair as a finishing product for smoothness and shine. I've used this daily since I bought it and love it so far - would really recommend it.
6) Garnier Minerals InvisiCool Deodorant
Okay, a deodorant. I ran out and needed a new one but didn't remember until I was at the till paying. The reduced basket is behind the queue in my Body Care so I grabbed this one out for £1.99, I don't know why it's reduced or how much it normally costs but I bought it and it's okay.
7) Simple Soothing Facial Toner
Considering I love toners so much and they're my favourite part of the skincare routine I cannot believe I have never used this Simple one before as it's very popular with other people - with good reason too! I really love this and know for sure that it's one I would buy again. It's really soothing, moisturising and smells amazingly fresh. I love using this both morning and night as it's perfect for removing the very last traces of make-up but also great for prepping the face before actually applying make-up too. I love it and now want to try the rest of the Simple skincare range too.
8) Pro:voke Touch of Silver Intensive Treatment Conditioner
This is an ideal product for me and for anybody else who has dip-dyed or ombre hair. Sometimes the ends of my hair start to look a little brassy and yellow-ish, and in a normal situation somebody with blonde hair would just reach for a regular purple shampoo to rectify this problem. I don't know if this is just me that does this but I only really shampoo my roots to mid-lengths and I condition the mid-lengths to ends.. so to shampoo my ends would feel a bit weird to me! I didn't even know that 'purple conditioner' existed but now that I've found it and I'm really glad that I did, it's everything I could ever want - brighten up my blonde ends and intensively condition them at the same time. Definitely beats coating them with a lightening spray which has damaging effects instead of conditioning ones.
9) Rimmel Precious Stones Nail Varnish - Ruby Crush
A new release by Rimmel for this season is their 'Precious Stones' nail varnishes (£3.99). I think this gorgeous red and silver glitter will be perfect for Christmas time and I can't wait to wear it.
10) Palmers Moisturising Lip Balm
This is one of my all time favourite lip balms! I love absolutely everything from the Palmers brand and the cocoa butter scent is gorrrgeous. Just one tube of this lip balm costs 99p but a pack of 3 costs £1.99 so I could resist picking up this multi-pack of my go-to lip balm. I always apply this before bed as it's super moisturising and smells beautiful.
11) Katy Perry Lashes by Eylure - 'Oh My!'
These cost just £3.99 in Body Care which is probably about half the price that they cost in Superdrug. I've always lusted after these but never felt brave enough to wear them as they do look really thick and full-on. But with my birthday, Christmas and the party season coming up I suspect some pretty glam outfits will be pulled out so I need glam eyes to complete the look! Most of my other eyelashes are pretty natural looking, especially the Millie Mackintosh ones, so I'm excited to try these out as something a bit different.
12) Technic Nail Varnish - Black
Last but not least!! I asked a while ago on Twitter if there was any super cheap nail varnish brands about that just did a simple black varnish and one of my suggestions was this 99p Technic one from Body Care. All that I'm interested in this for is creating nail art so if the quality is not fantastic then it won't really be relevant to me, I'll just be using it for a few dots and lines here and there. If you're looking for the same then definitely head on down to Body Care!
Safe to say that my so-called 'spending ban' has not done well AT ALL and needs to come into extremely strict effect ..immediately!
It's my birthday at the end of next month so what I need to do is just make a list of anything at all that I feel tempted to buy and then just get somebody else to get it for me. People say I'm hard to buy for but personally I can't see it - anything that comes in a pretty looking bottle and I can put it on my hair, body or face then I'll be satisfied!
Don't forget that I am currently running a celebratory 200 followers GIVEAWAY that ends at the end of this month.
